Audio-Video Devices

TRC offers a wide selection of computer, video, and audio equipment, including desktop and laptop PCs, a range of VCRs, cameras/camcorders, monitors and other components, which can be integrated to create an appropriate workstation or lab. The hardware listed here is by no means all that we offer; if you would like hardware that is not listed on this page, please contact us.

Computers

Whether you need a desktop or a laptop, TRC can recommend and supply the computer that best suits a lab or workstation. The laptop computer is especially convenient for portable or field observation and editing, while the desktop computer is more suited to stationary labs. We will install any hardware you require in the computer, as well as the software you have requested.

VCRs Click here for more information.

TRC offers a large selection of consumer and industrial VCRs. Most industrial VCRs include a jog/shuttle knob for frame-by-frame searching in both directions. VCRs may be portable or stationary. Our VCR Control System can control a number of VCRs, including the VCR functions of camcorders, directly from the computer. We offer integrated systems for VHS and S-VHS.

Cameras/Camcorders Click here for more information.

A variety of cameras and camcorders are available, including studio-quality dockable cameras, digital camcorders, and lipstick cameras. Some cameras come with time/date character generators, and some also include a built-in timecode generator. Combined with a laptop computer equipped with a PC-VC card, a small camcorder offers a fully portable workstation for data collection and analysis in research and industrial environments. Multiple cameras can be placed in a room and connected to a computer outside that room for detailed views of coding events.

Remote Pan/Tilt Controller Systems Click here for more information.

Especially useful for remote observation, these devices allow remote controls, including TRC's Pan-Tilt-Zoom software, to control the movement of the video camera. Continuous horizontal panning is made possible with an auto pan mode. The video camera can move in a smooth range of either 30, 60, or 90 degrees with adjustable speed. Remote control requires a remote cable.

Infrared Remote Lens Control Cables Click here for more information.

Also useful for remote observation with video cameras, these devices make it possible to adjust the camera's lens from a distance. The focal length can be zoomed between the wide angle setting and the telephoto setting. The zoom control speed is adjustable. Combined with a pan-tilt head and TRC's Pan-Tilt-Zoom software, the infrared lens controllers allow full remote operation of multiple cameras.

Video Monitors

TRC supplies a wide selection of monitors in both NTSC and PAL formats. Small portable LCD monitors and Analog-RGB monitors are also available.

Video Switch Systems Click here for more information.

Video Switch Systems are used to quickly reconfigure workstations for a variety of functions. They allow you to set up your workstation one time and use the video switch to change configurations. This saves time and greatly reduces confusion. Push button or remote controllable components are available to switch multiple video and audio lines.

Special Effects GeneratorsClick here for more information.

Special Effects Generators, also called Digital Mixers, make it possible to mix video signals, adding special effects such as fading, zooming, and picture flips while viewing up to four video sources on the same monitor. Controls to select effects, speeds and other settings are displayed on the same monitor. All sources are synchronized and corrected by the integrated time base corrector (TBC). Some of the features of Special Effects Generators include a chroma key feature, which allows you to replace a solid color background with another image, and a picture-in-picture feature, which is used to place one image within another.

Scan Converters

Scan Converters convert high-resolution computer graphics for output as video. The quality of the video is as close as technically possible to the quality of the computer graphics. Many scan converters automatically detect the input resolution and frequency of the incoming computer graphics. Some scan converters can be controlled through the PC by a pop-up menu. Numerous versions of scan converters with a variety of features are available.

Digital Video Windowing System

The Digital Video Windowing System uses a video capture card to display video in a window of a workstation, thus helping prevent "look-away error." Additional windows containing OCS may be displayed simultaneously. The capture card takes the place of the workstation's graphics card and may also be used to capture video into digital file formats such as AVI and MPEG.

Tripods and Mounting Device  Click here for more information.

TRC offers a variety of mounting devices for all types of hardware. For cameras, we can provide tripods, clamps, wall mounts, and ceiling mounts. We also have rackmounts for stacking multiple VCRs.
